That is master alloys, containing certain quantities of iron and one or more elements belonging to non-ferrous metal or half-metal category. These are usually: silicon, manganese and chromium, which constitute alloying elements. Ferroalloys are used in the metallurgy and foundry industries, providing the appropriate properties of the alloyed steel and performing the function of modifiers and deoxidizers.
